Shanghai railway Administration (SRA) said that a total of 55 trains, including 47 high-speed and eight freight trains, will be specially coordianted to guarantee effective logistics during the coming 11/11 festival, China’s largest e-commerce event.
上海铁路局(SRA)表示，在即将到来的中国最大电商活动双十一期间，共有55趟列车，包括47趟高速班列和8趟货物班列，将专门配合以保证有效的物流。
"Double Eleven" has become the peak of online shopping in China. Sales on Tmall, e-commerce giant Alibaba’s shopping platform, reached 91.2 billion RMB ($13.5 billion) last year on Nov. 11 alone. A total of 160 million items were sold on that day.
“双十一”已成为中国在线购物的高峰。去年11月11日，电子商务巨头阿里巴巴购物平台天猫的销售额达到912亿元人民币（135亿美元）。当天共售出1.6亿件商品。
However, the online shopping craze has also exposed logistics deficiencies, leading to large-scale delivery delays last year. It is estimated that the number of items being delivered during the Double Eleven festival this year will reach 1.05 billion, increasing 35 percent from last year. This figure naturally requires stronger logistics.
然而，在线购物的热潮也暴露了物流的缺陷，导致去年大规模的交货延误。据估计，今年双十一期间运送的物品数量将达到10.5亿，比去年增长35％。这个数字自然需要更强的物流。
An SRA employee stated that 47 high-speed trains would be running for same-day and next-day delivery during the shopping festival, covering seven routes and 18 cities. Another eight freight trains, including three running at speeds above 160km/h and five above 120km/h, will also be on standby.
一位SRA的员工表示，在购物节期间，将有47趟高速班列在同日和次日交货，涵盖7条路线和18座城市。另外的8趟货物班列，包括3趟时速160公里和5趟时速120公里的班列，也将处于待命状态。
China Railway has been testing high-speed freight services from Oct. 20 this year. Operating in 505 cities in China, the service covers the delivery of documents, online purchases, pharmaceuticals, perishable foods and emergency supplies.
今年10月20日，中国铁路开始测试高速货运服务。该服务在中国的505座城市运营，涵盖文件交付、在线采购、药品、易腐食品和应急物资的运送。
